The Library of Michigan Introduces a Pilot Project with LocalHop

You've asked for more sophisticated calendaring and event registration functionality. We're here to deliver it in this pilot project. The application window will open on May 20.

I am excited to announce a year-long pilot project with LocalHop, a Michigan company specializing in community calendars, library calendars, and event registration software. This is an upgrade and alternative to the Ploud calendar you currently have. LocalHop has worked with Enfold Systems to develop a seamless interface with Ploud websites. It has many of the features that Ploud libraries have been asking for including:

  • An attractive and meaningful event display page
  • Easy event registration capability with waiting lists
  • The ability, if you choose, to display community events on your site (community calendar)
  • Age groups and color coding
  • Four types of calendars to choose from (mini calendar, mini list, events calendar, community calendar) use one or all if you choose
  • Paid ticketing (if needed)

Three Michigan Ploud libraries are already using this software. Check them out here:

There is space in the pilot year for 20 libraries. As this is a pilot project, I can't speak with certainty about what future years will hold. However, the better the service is received by the Michigan Ploud community, the more likely it is to continue. I encourage you to apply. It's my goal to have a full 20 libraries who have been actively using the product in 2019/2020 to evaluate it at the end of the pilot year. The pilot year begins June 1, 2019 to coincide with the new Enfold Systems contract.
